Handcrafted | Nizamabad, Azamgarh Terracotta Art

This handcrafted black pottery vase features an elegant composition of a blooming flower, leafy botanical stems, and a stylized koi fish rendered in fine silver inlay. A large layered blossom rises above the flowing foliage, while the fish curves gracefully across the lower body, creating a harmonious composition inspired by nature. Fine linear detailing across the leaves, petals, scales, and flowing fins adds depth while maintaining the understated character of traditional Indian craftsmanship.

The deep matte-black finish is achieved through the traditional smoke-firing technique practiced in Nizamabad, Azamgarh. Each floral, botanical, and fish element is meticulously hand-etched and embedded with silver, producing a refined metallic contrast against the rich obsidian terracotta surface while preserving the handcrafted character of the piece.

Its elongated cylindrical body, gently rounded shoulders, slightly tapered neck, and subtly flared opening create a balanced vertical silhouette. Decorative horizontal grooves around the neck and base provide a restrained architectural detail. Whether displayed as a standalone decorative accent or styled with dried botanicals, the vase brings quiet character to consoles, bookshelves, side tables, entryways, and curated living spaces.
