Handcrafted | Nizamabad, Azamgarh Black Pottery
Created for slow mornings, shared tea, and relaxed table settings, Ritual Table brings together a handcrafted black pottery teapot, two matching mugs, two rounded cups, and two coordinating plates. The collection combines varied silhouettes while maintaining a consistent deep-black character, creating a balanced setting for two.
The teapot forms the centre of the collection with its rounded body, gently narrowed neck, fitted lid, softly defined rim, and naturally curved handle. Its fuller silhouette gives the set a strong sculptural presence while retaining the functional character of traditional pottery.
Two mugs feature clean cylindrical bodies with softly curved handles, offering a comfortable form for tea, coffee, or other beverages. Alongside them, two rounded cups introduce a softer, more organic shape to the collection, creating a subtle contrast between the different drinking forms.
The set is completed with two broad plates featuring gently raised rims and understated profiles. Their generous surfaces make them suitable for breakfast, snacks, desserts, or light meals, allowing the collection to work as both a tea setting and a relaxed dining arrangement.
Each piece is shaped from terracotta clay and finished using the traditional smoke-firing technique practiced in Nizamabad, Azamgarh. The process creates the characteristic deep black surface, while natural variations in texture and tone retain the tactile quality of handmade pottery.
Designed for two, Ritual Table works naturally for morning tea, coffee rituals, breakfast, intimate gatherings, or considered everyday dining. The varied forms also allow the pieces to be styled individually across dining tables, coffee tables, kitchen shelves, and serving spaces.
