Handcrafted | Nizamabad, Azamgarh Black Pottery
A study in botanical form and traditional decorative expression, Botanical Tales brings together two handcrafted black pottery vases, each carrying a distinct artwork inspired by nature. The contrasting silhouettes and individual motifs create a balanced pair that brings together sculptural form, detailed craftsmanship, and the visual depth of Nizamabad black pottery.
The first vase features a slender, elongated silhouette with a gently rounded lower body, narrow neck, and softly flared rim. Its surface is decorated with a large stylized flower surrounded by layered leaves and fine botanical linework. The vertical composition follows the natural proportions of the vase, giving the piece a graceful and rhythmic character.
The second vase has a fuller, more substantial silhouette with a rounded body, gently tapered upper section, and subtly ridged detailing around the neck and base. Its surface features a striking floral and bird composition, with a large flower, flowing foliage, and a detailed bird motif creating a more illustrative character.
The two vases are unified by their deep black surfaces and contrasting light-toned artwork, while their different forms and decorative compositions allow each piece to retain its own identity. Together, they create a considered decorative arrangement without appearing overly uniform.
Styled on a console, sideboard, mantel, shelf, entryway, or display table, the pair can serve as sculptural accents within contemporary, heritage-inspired, eclectic, or minimalist interiors. They can also be displayed separately across different spaces.
